David Allgeyer

Over the past 20 years, David Allgeyer has served as arbitrator in over 100 intellectual property and commercial disputes. David’s intellectual property- related arbitrations have resolved disputes concerning patents, trade secrets, copyrights and trademarks in the bio-manufacturing, petroleum, consumer product manufacturing and sales, security, medical products, and other industries. His commercial arbitrations have resolved contact and warranty disputes involving enterprise-wide computer systems, semi-conductor manufacturing, automotive parts manufacturing, textile manufacturing technology, corporate governance, insurance financing, insurance coverage, and other matters.

Serving for years on the Commercial Arbitration and Mediation Panels of the American Arbitration, he has mediated disputes involving all forms of intellectual property as well as commercial and contract disputes.

David is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School, where he served as an editor of the Minnesota Law Review. After serving as law clerk to the United States District for the District of Minnesota, David joined the Minneapolis office of Lindquist and Vennum, where he was an associate, partner, and of counsel through 2017. In 2018, David formed Allgeyer ADR, devoted to serving as an arbitrator and mediator.

Over the past 40 years, David has litigated, arbitrated, and mediated intellectual property and commercial matters throughout the United States. He served as his former firm’s Litigation Department Chair and Intellectual Property Practice Group Leader. A former Chair of the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Section, David is a frequent lecturer and panelist on ADR and intellectual property matters. David has been listed for a number of years in Best Lawyers in America, Chambers, and Super Lawyers. He was named by Best Lawyers in America as the 2024 and 2016 Minneapolis Arbitration Lawyer of the Year and 2018 Minneapolis Mediation Lawyer of the Year.
