Dealing with Crises: Resolving Aviation, Aerospace, and Defense Issues Through Mediation

May 27, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

The aviation, aerospace, and defense sectors are reeling from the impact of COVID-19, as it severely disrupts traditional markets, development projects, production, delivery, maintenance, funding, and supply chains. Legal relationships at all levels are being tested and strained. In many cases, traditional methods of dispute resolution will not be able to provide the pragmatic and expeditious solutions needed to realign legal obligations quickly.

The Aviation, Aerospace, and National Security Panel (AANS) of arbitrators and mediators selected for their specific industry knowledge and expertise by the American Arbitration Association® (AAA®) and its international division, the International Centre for Dispute Resolution® was assembled to address these issues swiftly.

Join members from the panel and other authorities in the field as they examine the key issues arising from COVID-19 for these sectors and discuss the effectiveness of mediation (currently virtual, eventually in-person) as a crucial mechanism to employ in this crisis.

Moderator: Wolf von Kumberg, Int Arb Arbitrators and Mediators, AAA-ICDR AANS Panel, London and Washington
