Implications of the DLT/Blockchain Technology in the Banking & Finance Sectors | Roundtable No. 1
March 5, 2021 @ 6:00 am - 7:30 am
This is an invitation to participate in a series of four virtual roundtables organized by the Working Group on Dispute Resolution in International Blockchain-based Transactions of the Silicon Valley Arbitration and Mediation Center (SVAMC).
The first roundtable in the series, which will examine the implications of the DLT/Blockchain technology in the banking and finance sectors, will take place on Friday 5 March 2021 from 14:00 to 15:30 UTC. We will learn from leading experts in the field about real-life applications of DLT/Blockchain (not possibilities, but concrete experiences), which organizations in the banking and financial sector are using Blockchain technology and how. The format will be a dynamic exchange among the panelists followed by questions and comments from the audience.
Panelists:
- Silke Noa Elrifei, Gnosis
- Cecil (CJ) Jones, Virtualdeveloper.com, LLC
- Rong Lin, Synfutures
- Prof Dr. Philip Sandner, Frankfurt Blockchain Center
- Crenguta Leaua, LDDP & SVAMC (Moderator)
- Barry Finkelstein, Algorand
The three ensuing roundtables will, respectively, focus on (1) mapping the deployment and potential of DLT/blockchain applications in non-financial industries and sectors; (2) legal transactions that are based on DLT/blockchain technology (i.e., smart contracts, tokens/crypto assets in general), the current legal framework and challenges faced by DLT/blockchain; and (3) new developments and improvement of existing dispute resolution mechanisms relied upon by developers and users of DLT/blockchain technology. Registration will be made available soon for these roundtables.
