Paul Barker

Paul is a partner at Kirkland & Ellis in San Francisco, where is he a member of the ESG & Impact practice. He is also a Research Fellow at the Gould Center for Conflict Resolution at Stanford Law School in Silicon Valley. Paul combines over a decade’s experience across Asia, Europe, and the US acting as counsel and advocate, tribunal secretary, and arbitrator in international commercial and investment treaty arbitrations with a focus on climate change, sustainable finance, the net zero energy transition, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)-related matters. Previously, Paul practiced as a barrister from a prominent London chambers and is recognized by The Legal 500 and Who’s Who Legal as a leading barrister for public international law and international arbitration. Paul is admitted to the bar in England (Middle Temple), New York, and California. He is also on the steering committee of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) North America YMG.
