Vicki Qingning Zhang is a Senior Data Scientist at Google DeepMind in London, where she advises on compute allocation, forecasts capacity demand in data centres, and translates regulatory requirements to engineering implementation. She is also training to qualify at the English Bar and has undertaken short placements (mini-pupillages) at Brick Court Chambers, 3 Verulam Buildings and Maitland Chambers, building a parallel interest in commercial dispute resolution. Before moving to London, Vicki spent two years as an Analyst at Cornerstone Research in Washington, DC, supporting economic expert witnesses to quantify damages in high-value commercial litigation and international arbitrations. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Law with Distinction from the University of Law and a BA cum laude in Computer Science and Philosophy from Duke University. Vicki remains alive to the many ways emerging technologies are pushing legal and ethical boundaries.
