The Use of AI in Investor-State Arbitration

The session will provide a critical and legally rigorous discussion of current developments and practical applications of AI in arbitration, including the SVAMC Guidelines on the Use of AI in Arbitration and regulatory frameworks such as the EU AI Act.

Ata is Co-Chair of the Silicon Valley Arbitration and Mediation Center Young Professionals (SVAMC-YP) and a PhD researcher at the University of Antwerp (Faculty of Law & Antwerp Center on Responsible AI). His research focuses on AI governance, regulation, and the integration of AI into arbitration and mediation, alongside his doctoral research on dispute resolution in the space sector.

He also serves on the SVAMC Executive Committee and AI Task Force, contributing to the revision of the SVAMC Guidelines on the Use of AI in Arbitration. He is currently involved in evaluating the AI legal platform Jurimesh at the University of Antwerp.
