Effective Use of Technical Experts in Arbitration: Tips for Success and Avoiding Pitfalls

This webinar, presented by SVAMC, will discuss:
- When and when not to use a technical expert, e.g. to provide technical/scientific background to educate the arbitrator(s), to explain accepted terminology, to opine on causation.
- What types of experts are most persuasive;
- How to present expert testimony most effectively;
- How to avoid wasting time and money; and
- Avoiding common pitfalls, e.g. having an expert opine on the meaning of contract language, opine on areas outside of his or her expertise, or opine on issues that are neither relevant nor determinative of the case.
